To order in a café, you can use je voudrais, meaning I would like.
Je voudrais un café. | I would like a coffee. |

Je voudrais un croissant. | I would like a croissant. |
Je voudrais une eau. | I would like a water. |
Je voudrais is polite and useful in cafés, restaurants, shops, and many everyday situations.
